नर्म लोहा लौहचुंबकीय है और धारावाही परिनालिका के भीतर रखने पर प्रबल रूप से चुंबकित होकर विद्युत चुंबक बनाता है। ऐल्युमिनियम, ताँबा और प्लास्टिक इस प्रकार चुंबकित नहीं होते।

Soft iron is ferromagnetic and gets strongly magnetised when placed inside a current-carrying solenoid, forming an electromagnet. Aluminium, copper and plastic are not magnetised this way.

Through Open Market Operations the RBI buys or sells government securities to inject or absorb liquidity, thereby controlling the money supply in the economy.
