Selection stages

CBT 1 — Screening

100 questions, 90 minutes — Maths, General Science, General Intelligence & Reasoning, General Awareness. Depending on the Technician grade, this both qualifies and shortlists candidates.

CBT 2 (where applicable)

Some Technician grades (e.g. Grade I Signal) have a second, more technical paper that decides merit; other grades (e.g. Grade III) are often single-CBT.

Document Verification (DV)

Original education, age, category and technical qualification (ITI/diploma) certificates are checked.

Medical Examination

Fitness check against the medical standard prescribed for the post (e.g. A2/B1) — appointment follows only after clearing this.
